support gentle detox, soothe the digestive system, and deliver a warm, mineral-rich hug from the inside out. Perfect for anyone needing a reset or a daily dose of gut-loving nourishment.

Healing Bouillon Elixir

Ingredients    (serves 1):

1 heaping tsp Fresh Bouillon paste (Original or Ramen)

1 ½ cups filtered hot water

½ tsp freshly grated ginger (or ¼ tsp ground)

½ tsp freshly grated turmeric (or ¼ tsp ground)

Juice of ¼–½ lemon (adjust to taste)

Pinch of black pepper (boosts turmeric absorption)

Optional: pinch of cayenne (stimulates circulation)

Optional gentle acidifier (choose one):

– 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (if tolerated)

– 1 tsp aloe vera juice (for soothing gut support)

– 1 tsp raw sauerkraut brine (for probiotic benefit)

🍋 Why Use an Acidifier in a Detox Elixir?

1. Stimulates Digestive Juices

Acidifiers wake up your digestive system, signaling your body to:

  • Produce more stomach acid (HCl), which helps break down food and kills pathogens

  • Trigger the release of bile from the liver and gallbladder, aiding in fat digestion and toxin elimination

  • Improve absorption of minerals like magnesium, calcium, and zinc—which are key players in detox enzymes

Without enough acidity, digestion is sluggish, and detox pathways (especially bile flow) can get backed up.

2. Supports Phase I & II Liver Detox

Acidifiers like lemon juice and ACV contain compounds that indirectly support liver detox enzymes:

  • Lemon juice contains limonene and vitamin C, both of which help neutralize free radicals created during toxin breakdown (Phase I) and assist in transforming fat-soluble toxins for elimination (Phase II).

  • ACV contains acetic acid, which helps regulate blood sugar (important for liver function), and may help the body metabolize fat and break down toxins more effectively.

3. Encourages Alkaline Response Post-Digestion

Even though these ingredients taste acidic, they promote alkalinity once metabolized, which:

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Supports cellular function and oxygenation

  • Enhances the environment for detox enzymes and antioxidants to work

Lemon, in particular, is a superstar here—acid in the mouth, alkaline in the body.

🌿 Smart Herbs to Add to the Healing Bouillon Elixir  (optional)

All of these can be:

  • tossed straight into the cup (fresh or dried),

  • steeped briefly in the hot bouillon

🌱 1. Nettle Leaf

  • Gently detoxes kidneys and supports adrenal health

  • High in minerals: iron, magnesium, calcium

  • Taste: earthy, slightly grassy

🍃 2. Dandelion Root POwdEr or Leaf

  • Liver detox superstar

  • Stimulates bile and digestion

  • Taste: mildly bitter, grounding

🌱 3. Mint (fresh or dried)

  • Calms digestion, reduces bloating

  • Cooling and refreshing twist

  • Taste: herbal and uplifting

🍄 4. Reishi or Chaga Powder

Why it works:

Minerals + electrolytes from bouillon hydrate and support cell repair

Ginger + turmeric reduce inflammation and stimulate digestion

Lemon or aloe help your liver and kidneys gently release toxins

Herbs like nettle and dandelion support lymph/bile flow and clear excess fluid

Daily Ritual Ideas:

Morning cleanse: Sip on an empty stomach for gentle liver support

Afternoon reset: Beat bloat and boost energy between meals

Evening wind-down: Add calming herbs like lemon balm or Tulsi

🌱 Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

  • Flavour: Mildly lemony, soft, herbaceous—not too floral

  • Benefits: Eases anxiety, relaxes nervous system, supports digestion

  • Use: Fresh leaves or ½–1 tsp dried per cup

  • Pairs well with parsley, mint, ginger, and bouillon’s savory base

📝 Lemon balm is a top choice for people with tension, restlessness, or gut/stress issues.

🌿  Holy Basil (Tulsi)

  • Flavour: Slightly spicy, earthy, with clove-like undertones

  • Benefits: Adaptogenic—calms stress without making you sleepy, helps regulate cortisol

  • Use: ½ tsp dried or 1 tsp fresh per cup

Tulsi adds depth and complexity that pairs surprisingly well with bouillon, especially in evening blends.
